Brown lacquered metal floor light with flexible shade on a curved stem. Design from the mid-century by famous Swedish designer Hans-Agne Jakobsson. Lamp is in good, working vintage condition. Shade has some dents and the brown lacquer some traces of use. Marked by maker.
Hans-Agne Jakobsson was a Swedish interior designer famous for his organic lightning designs. Many of his work follows the approaches of other famous designers like Poul Henningsen, Alvar Aalto, Jo Hammerborg and Verner Panton. His work consists of pendants, floor lamps, wall lamps and table lamps which made of many materials. For some of his designs he used laminated wood and other brass or metal. Well known designs are his lamps made of laminated pine and his large bulbous glass chandeliers. Today, he is among Scandinavians most important lighting designers of the mid-century modern era. His lamps will match any Scandinavian design, like the tables, sideboards, chairs and sofa’s by Arne Jacobsen, Borge Mogensen, Finn Juhl, Hans Wegner and Torbjorn Afdal.
