Large set of Dutch Mid-Century Dining or Stacking Chairs by Gijs van der Sluis

We have a large set of Dutch mid-century dining chairs available. The chairs are designed and manufactured by Gijs van der Sluis, the Netherlands 1960s. This metal industrial dining chair is a nice example of mid-century Dutch modern. A sleek metal frame with wooden arm rests and a upholstered seating and back. Nothing more, nothing less. Pure Dutch minimalism. When stacking the chairs they almost look like some art deco sculpture. Very beautiful Dutch mid-century design chairs! The chairs are in good condition. Metal frames all have some traces of use. Orange fabric is original. We have 42 pieces available. Price is per piece. Gijs Van Der Sluis was a Dutch furniture designer from the mid-century. He started his own company “van der Sluis stalen meubelen” (van der Sluis steel furniture) in 1950, which was active till 1990. He and his company were responsible for some of the most famous Dutch midcentury design items. His sleeper sofa model 540 was a huge success and is still being sold today. Other items by his hand are the 36DLA sofa, number 60 lounge chairs, number 33 dining chair. Together with Martin Visser, Rob Parry, Wim Rietveld and Friso Kramer he his among the Dutch mid century designers to remember.
