Louis van Teeffelen for Webe wall unit, The Netherlands 1960’s

This shelving system was designed by Dutch furniture designer Louis van Teeffelen for Wébé the Netherlands in the 1950s.

Louis van Teeffelen was the most important designer at Wébé. His work was often influenced by Danish mid century modern. Like Danish designs of the same era, he mainly used teak, brass connectors and brackets and black painted elements. His most famous work is probably his Pelican Chair and his modular shelving system.

This is one of his modular shelving systems. It is made of beautiful teak, black wooden risers and brass brackets. It features a cabinet, four shelves for books or other small items and one shelve with two drawers, which can be used as a desk or a place for large items. It is possible to rearrange the shelves to your liking. The cabinet is best placed at the bottom. This is for stability.

The wall unit can be placed freely against a wall on a flat floor.

The unit is in good condition normal traces of use.
