Amazing metal wire room divider or bookcase by Dutch designer Tjerk Reijenga for Pilastro, made and designed in the Netherlands in the 1960s.
This geometric metal wire mid-century item will be great as a room divider and can be used a a bookcase or to store other items. It is not very big, so it is a perfect item for a smaller room. But you can also place it against a wall or maybe even in your greenhouse or conservatory for your plants and flowers.
This item is in good condition with some traces of use to the black paint.
Item is priced per piece. We have three available. One item has a slightly different design at the bottom, where you can see two attached plates for extra stability. This is original and probably a later production year
Tjerk Reijenga was a Dutch designer who worked for Dutch furniture manufacturer Pilastro in the mid-century. He is a was a well respected designer and his item are still very popular nowadays. His designs for Pilastro are good examples of Dutch industrial design with many resemblances to the designs of Mathieu Mategot. A couple of his most famous items are his metal modular wall or shelving system, model 8000 lounge or arm chair, the cross frame wire stool and dining chair, the metal room divider or bookcase, perforated desk and wall lamp and coloured metal trolley and magazine stand.
